This December 15, the lords and ladies of the Baltimore Reds take on the Charm City
Gooners in the Second Annual Craig Willinger Fund Supporters Charity Shield in a curtain raiser at the 1st Mariner Arena.
The Craig Willinger Fund, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2009, raises the spirits of children and young adults who have battled cancer by sending them around the world to unique venues to see their favorite professional or national team play a match.
Last year’s match was a tightly contested affair with the Gooners winning by the narrowest of 15-4 margins. This year, the Red side of Baltimore is looking to avenge the loss.
“They were lucky last year,” claims Baltimore Reds gaffer Darren Rudham. “Well, that and they actually practiced together. It seemed to work for them this year, so we might give it a go.”
Tickets to the event are $14 with $4 from each ticket going to the Craig Willinger Fund. Click here to buy your tickets through PayPal now.
The $14 gets you access to the 6pm Supporters Shield match as well as seats directly behind the far goal for the Baltimore Blast vs Missouri Comets game at 7:35pm.
“Think of it as a double feature,” said Rudham. “There’s a low-budget comedy followed by a big-name action-drama.”
Those coming to watch the Supporters Shield match can enter through Gate E7 (across from the Light Rail station).
