Manchester City held goalless at home

Steven Gerrard’s 12-minute penalty helped Liverpool secure 1-0 win at Etihad Stadium in the first leg of the league cup semi-final. After a dominating performance on offense in the first half, the Reds slowly pulled back and stacked up onY defense for the rest of the game. City was held goalless at home for the first time in the season.  The two teams will meet again at Anfield for the second leg in 10 days.

Liverpool host Stoke City 

Liverpool hope to collect all three points to improve their premier league standing when they host Stoke city later today.  The two teams met twice at Britanna stadium earlier in the season with each taking home a win.  The reds are undefeated home this season.
